Northern Doctors Annual Education Awards Ceremony will be held on Tuesday 17th November 2026 12pm-1.30pm
Nominations are now open for Northern Doctors Education Awards for 2026. Nominations close on 19th October 2026.
Award Categories
Excellence in Supervision
Recognising an individual or unit who offers outstanding supervision to junior medical staff.
Unit: Innovative/high-quality orientation, tailored support, flexible employment opportunities, supervisor training or professional development.
Individual: Outstanding supervision, providing tailored advice/feedback, advocacy.
Excellence in Clinical Teaching
Recognising an individual or unit who demonstrated excellence in clinical teaching.
Unit: Variety of teaching sessions: journal club, case presentations, online/print education, collaboration – interdisciplinary or inter-speciality, simulation.
Individual: Commitment to clinical teaching in multiple modalities and to multiple audiences.
Mentor of the Year
Recognising an individual who has gone above and beyond in their mentorship of one or more junior medical staff.
Commitment to mentoring demonstrated by mentorship of multiple JMS and/or mentorship over several years, career progression, advocacy for trainee, career advice, assistance with networking/exam preparation/job applications (e.g., CV/interview technique).
Rising Medical Educator of the Year
Recognising a registrar or fellow who demonstrates outstanding supervision, teaching & wellbeing support.
Commitment to medical education demonstrated through outstanding teaching, supervision, meaningful feedback and support for the professional development and wellbeing of junior medical staff.
