Make sure you have leave / not rostered on to attend. Please contact: northerndoctorsworkforce@nh.org.au
The ARC ALS 1 course is a full day course with pre-reading (via paper manual), teaching sessions and simulation sessions. Whereas the RA ALS 1 half day course is fast-paced scenario-based learning only, and there is minimal formal teaching sessions. There is online pre-learning however sometimes staff who are new to ALS struggle on these days if they are unfamiliar with the concepts.
If you haven’t had much involvement in ALS before, the ARC full day course is recommended. And alternatively, if you are quite experienced and work in critical care areas, you could also explore the ALS 2 courses that cover more content and have a focus on team leadership.
