Dear Northern Health Staff and friends,

Welcome to the Northern Health Bicycle User Group (BUG)!  We established our group officially in June 2023, and we have loads of ideas for improving cycling infrastructure at Northern Health, for charity fundraisers and for social events.  We hope to provide advice and assistance for all things cycling to and from work (and anywhere else for that matter)!

If there are any cycling concerns or you need to get in touch, please contact us at:

CURRENTLY WORKING ON GETTING A PROPER LOCKUP CAGE FOR BROADMEADOWS!

WARNING – bike theft

PLEASE ensure that your bike is well locked with a high quality lock (preferably a big U-Lock or a hardened steel chain/padlock.  Also consider locking wheels with a cable if wheels are valuable.  Cables alone are insufficient!

Whilst we will work hard to improve the security of our bike areas, it remains the rider’s responsibility to secure their bikes.  If your bike is valuable, consider personally insuring it against theft.  It is highly unlikely that Northern Health will be in a position to assist with an insurance claim.  We have security cameras, however unless we can identify the thief, they will only act as a visual deterrent.

Please look out for one another, make sure you lock the cage behind you, and report any suspicious behaviour.  Get in touch with NH BUG if you have any security concerns or suggestions.  Stay Safe!
