Northern Health provides training for all specialty programs.
There are advanced training positions in all medical specialities (Cardiology, Endocrinology, Respiratory Medicine, Gastroenterology, Oncology, Aged Care, General Medicine, Rheumatology, Neurology, Infectious Diseases) and trainees in Ophthalmology and ENT rotate here from other tertiary centres.
We also provide training in Surgery, including Urology, Plastics and Orthopaedics. In addition there are training programmes for Emergency Medicine, Anaesthetics, ICU Medicine, Psychiatry, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Rehabilitation Medicine and Palliative Care.
Many of these training programmes are held in conjunction with another tertiary centre, such as Austin Health. This means the programmes are excellent – lots of clinical experience gained here combined with teaching from many experienced specialists.
