Northern Health is a busy Health Service looking after patients in the fast-growing northern corridor of Melbourne. We currently have 440 beds at The Northern Hospital campus. The number of beds has doubled in the past 8 years and we expect will double again within the decade. We anticipate that building will start soon on our new Academic and Research Precinct and we have begun planning for another major ward block. In addition, we have another 4 campuses that have ambulatory care, rehabilitation and aged care beds.

You can do everything at Northern Health. You can train in all the specialities. We offer advanced training positions, advanced physician training positions and we share basic training with Austin Health. We have one of the highest pass rates for the written and clinical examinations.

We listen to you. Health Services are always trying to improve. When you tell us something and when we ask your opinion, we listen to you and we act. Junior doctors are an important part of our Health Service and we value your input.

We have a team to look after you. This comprises our Medical Education Unit, Junior Medical Workforce Unit, a surgical liaison Senior and 2 Senior Medical Registrars, one of whose primary responsibilities is your education and support.

Northern Health provides you with opportunities. We like to work as a team and we include our junior doctors in numerous activities.

We have job openings for Consultants here at Northern Health. Many of our junior doctors have seen the opportunities here and have come back to Northern Health to work as Consultants.
